A BREATHWORK BOOTCAMP

Welcome to a somatic breathwork and drumming experience designed to help you move energy, release tension, and reconnect with your body’s natural rhythm.

Through guided breath sequences, vocal release, movement, and drum-led activation, participants are invited into a space where healing is not passive — it is embodied, expressive, and transformative. This practice supports nervous system regulation, emotional release, and a grounded return to vitality through the power of rhythm and breath.

 

What sets Ian’s sessions apart is the depth of the work. While he always meets people where they are, he also challenges people to lean into whatever comes up when one surrenders to their breath and allows space for the body’s innate intelligence to lead in releasing whatever it needs to release. Whether one finds themselves facing immense heart ache, anger and trauma, or they find themselves relaxed and feeling joy and laughter, Ian invites them to remain present and devoted to their breath and the emotional and physiological process that immerges. Rhythmic entrainment through improvised drumming supports his breathwork sessions in offering something the body can follow — a beat to trust, a pattern to relax into — making space for what’s held beneath the surface to rise, move, and shift.

Participants are invited to de-armor years of muscular contraction and allow what has been held deep in the fascia— sometimes for decades — to finally move. Through guided breathwork, Ian encourages students to let the breath bring up what it needs to, to feel rather than suppress, and to allow the body to process and release what has been stored.

Unlike many breathwork approaches that focus solely on calm states, he intentionally works with breath as a gateway to activation — using the practice to call on the sympathetic nervous system, stir emotion, and reawaken the body’s innate intelligence to move toward homeostasis. As tension dissolves and energy begins to flow, individuals may tremble, vocalize, cry, laugh, shake, or soften — a natural unwinding of held experience that allows the nervous system to move toward a greater capacity for joy and pleasure. This work opens a pathway to unlock inner somatic intelligence, where the body remembers how to heal itself from within by building resilience and capacity to modulate easily between emotional states, moving from the sympathetic nervous system into a more grounded state in the parasympathetic nervous system.

How Does it Work?

Drumming stimulates the brain and nervous system through rhythmic entrainment, supporting emotional expression and deeper embodiment. The steady pulse invites the body to break through stagnation and loosen old patterns, so you can begin to get out of your own way.

Breath opens the inner channel — though deep oxygenation, clearing the mind, expanding lung capacity, and reawakening inner aliveness. As participants let the breath bring up what it needs to, it begins to unwind contraction, soften defenses, and reawaken your body’s innate intelligence.

Together, rhythm and breath create an accessible yet powerful pathway into somatic release, nervous system recalibration, and personal expansion. This work awakens the sympathetic nervous system so that tension and held emotion can surface, move, and ultimately dissolve — guiding the body back toward balance and homeostasis, and allowing for optimal reintegration with the parasympathetic nervous system.  The end goal is to allow space for greater health, both physiologically and emotionally, a healthier environment in the mind-body connection where one can modulate with greater ease and resiliency between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, and help the body relearn how to release tension and trauma as it comes up so we don’t hold on to it and recontract. This combination allows us to remain nimble and fluid in our ability to deal with life’s struggles, and to be empowered to hold on to the sovereignty and strength in life’s joys and pleasures.
