About the event
Teen Beat is a process-oriented shared group music making experience. No musical background or skill is needed. Participants are supported in scoring healthy relationships through music. Some of the activities may include group drumming & percussion, songwriting, listening to preferred songs and analyzing lyrics while exploring song meaning and how it relates to our lives. Through these shared experiences, participants are supported in remaining mindful of their breath and self-care needs, developing greater personal insight, and fostering connection among peers. Through having fun and being creative participants may address the following areas: team building, listening skills, distress tolerance, anxiety reduction, development of empathy, mindfulness, self-awareness, and improved communication.
